Sydney based photographer, Joanna Davidson has always been captivated by the beauty of the sky during those twilight moments of the day, and in particular, the dawn to sunrise hour.  And since discovering a second passion in life, that of landscape photography, it was only natural that she would combine these two loves in what has become an all consuming desire to expose the beauty of Australia’s secret and sometimes not so secret locations at this magical time of the day. 

Joanna does commissioned work for people who would like to commemorate a special occasion such as a birth or a wedding, with the sunrise of that day.  Since then, she has brought together just a handful of her personal favourites into a collection she has called “Spirit of Dawn”, which she has begun exhibiting at various venues around Sydney.  The collection has been received with great enthusiasm by audiences everywhere.  Her work has won international awards and been published in photographic books.  This is just the beginning as it is her desire to capture the beauty of many other countries around the world in a unique way, starting with an upcoming visit to that most fascinating of places, Alaska.
